Professor DING¡¯s First Visit of USA

 

Professor Jiandong DING was invited to give a plenary lecture in the 4th NanoBio International Conference held at Seattle during July 23-26, which triggered his first visit of USA.

 

Professor Ding took this chance to visit 7 American Universities (one in Western America before the Conference and six in Eastern America after the conference) in July and August. They are, in time sequence, University of Washington at Seattle (Department of Bioengineering, Department of Chemical Engineering, School of Medicine), Harvard University (Harvard Medical School, Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Joint Centre of Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Department of Chemical Engineering, David H. Koch Cancer Institute, Joint Centre of Harvard-MIT Health Sciences and Technology), University of Pennsylvania (Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Department of Bioengineering, School of Medicine), Drexel University (Department of Materials Sciences), School of Medicine of Cornell University, and Columbia University (Department of Biomedical Engineering, School of Medicine).

He also gave seminars in Harvard University, University of Pennsylvania, and Columbia University. His talk about the recent progress of biomedical polymeric materials in his group stimulated warm discussion. For instance, the question stage in the Harvard seminar lasted for 20 min.
